How To Make Vegan Pancakes


An interest in a raw food diet is on the increase and this has led to my personal  interest in raw food. I love these raw vegan pancakes and when I decided to try more raw dishes, this has become one of my absolute favourites

Try these for breakfast or you can even use them as part of a dessert . They are nutritious and so simple to make. These pancakes are suitable for vegans, vegetarians and also those on a gluten free diet. In addition because these are so easy to make they are suitable for children to make with some adult supervision

Raw, Vegan Pancakes Recipe (suitable for the following diets raw, vegan, gluten free & soya free or anyone who just loves any kind of pancake)

The recipe makes 4-5 small pancakes


1 -2 large banana (mashed)
1/4 cup buckwheat flour
2 tbsp ground flax seed
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 cup almond milk



1) Blend all of the ingredients together in a blender. The mix should be like normal pancake batter if you need more almond milk, then add a little more 1-2 spoon fuls at a time until you have the right consistency

2) Pour in 1/4 cup full onto a  lined dehydrator tray. You should be able to make about 5 pancakes.

3) Dehydrate for about 2 and a half hours. Turn over the pancakes (use a spatula or inverted spatula) and dehydrate for another 2 1/2 hours . It is important not to over-dehydrate here, so check the pancakes often. .

4) Serve with fresh blueberries , peaches, nectarines or what ever topping you like


Sweetened – To add an extra sweet taste, add 2-3 medjool dates that have been soaked for 10-20 mins, chopped and added to the batter

– Cinnamon – Add some extra cinnamon to the batter for more of a cinnamon flavoured pancake

– Choc Flavour – Add 1-2 teaspoons of cacao nibs to the batter


  • Razzelberry Topping – Raspberry Blueberries, & Strawberry
  • Funky Monkey Topping – chopped bananas and warm peanut butter
  • English Orchard – Chopped pears, apples and plumbs
  • Maple Dream – Chopped banana, crushed pecan nuts and a drizzle of maple syrup
  • Jamaica Gold – Mango, Pineapple & with a drizzle of agave syrup
