Vegan Jamaican Cookery
Vegan Jamaican Cookery
Vegan recipes can have the stereotype of being bland, boring or just yuck. I have come across some recipes that I am not sure what the thinking was behind the creation. My theory is that you have to give your vegan recipe your own style and make it true to who you are. Give it texture, excitement, taste and the flavours that you like. In addition it is good to try the flavours that may not be your own personal ones but they are what you like. For example I am not Mexican but I like Mexican food and I will try vegan dishes with a Mexican twist or Mexican inspiration. I am often asked how to make vegan dishes from my country of origin which is Jamaica. I was born and  raised in London and when I was 5 years old my parents took me and my sisters back to Jamaica, so we could benefit  from their very good education system and learn about our culture. My Great Aunt owned a restaurant called Cookie's (That was her nick name) and I think that is where I got my "cooking genes"  from ..... but I digress :0) I am running some vegan Jamaican cooking demonstrations in London, on Sunday 4 October 2015 at the beautiful Ice Tank Kitchen in Central London just behind the Shaftesbury theatre.  click here to book Come along to this cookery demonstration  to get the basics of vegan Jamaican cooking, that will start you on the road to a lifestyle that makes such a huge difference to everyone! .. so if you think being vegan is all about boring, bland tofu and buck wheat, I have some wonderful recipes that you will LOVE. ice tank kitchen , London This action packed, fun filled demonstration is interactive with lots of information, prizes, recipe sheets and a few vegan snacks to sample.
